What’s unique about Maria Munchkin Cattery is that, we are a small, family owned cattery in Fargo, North Dakota. We specialize in Munchkin kittens and Scottish Fold kittens for sale to loving homes. Our Kings and Queens come from excellent bloodlines and are treated with the same care and affection we give our family pets.
Every kitten we raise is part of our family. From birth, they are handled daily and well socialized through constant human contact. By the time they go to their new homes, they are confident, playful, and affectionate. Each kitten is seen by a licensed veterinarian, litter trained, altered, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations.
Our story began in early 2011 when my husband Jeff and I decided to breed and raise Munchkin kittens. We had always loved their sweet personalities and unique look, so we brought home our first group of kittens from China four females and one male. They arrived safely, and our journey as Munchkin breeders began.
Because we both work from home, we are able to spend plenty of time with our cats and kittens. I handle most of the care and socialization during the first eight weeks and manage the administrative side of our cattery. Jeff takes the lead from nine to fourteen weeks and is known in our family as the “cat whisperer.” It’s common to find him relaxing in his chair with several kittens curled up on his lap.
Our cats live right here in our home. Once the kittens reach seven to eight weeks old, they are free to explore the house and interact with us throughout the day. This helps them grow into friendly, people-loving cats who adjust easily to new families.
As a small, home based cattery, we usually have no more than five litters each year. This allows us to give each kitten the personal care and attention they need. We take pride in matching every kitten with the perfect home and keeping in touch with many of our families after adoption.
We take breeding and cat care seriously, studying feline health through Oxford Learning College and showing our cats at competitions. Our cats are registered with CFA and TICA, and we ensure they are well-cared for with regular veterinary check-ups and a balanced diet.
